HOTEL ZOO BERLIN – House Rules

 

By entering the hotel, all guests accept the following house rules. Hotel staff is authorized to issue instructions to ensure compliance. Violations may result in immediate expulsion from the hotel.

1. General Rules

1.1 No Smoking HOTEL ZOO BERLIN is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaping devices) is strictly prohibited in all areas of the hotel. Guests may use the room balconies and designated outdoor areas (the Winter Garden at GRACE Bar and the terrace at GRACE Restaurant) for smoking. Violation of the non-smoking policy will result in a fine and a cleaning fee (e.g., for curtains and upholstered furniture).

1.2 Pets Pets are allowed in the public areas, GRACE Bar and Restaurant, and hotel rooms. The only exception is dinner service at GRACE Restaurant, where pets are not allowed (except for assistance dogs).

1.3 Children Children are welcome at HOTEL ZOO BERLIN and GRACE Restaurant. In the GRACE Bar, children and teenagers are permitted until 9:00 p.m. when accompanied by an adult. On the rooftop, they are permitted until 10:00 p.m. Guests are always responsible for their children and must not leave them unattended. Parents or legal guardians are liable for any damage caused due to neglect of their supervisory duties. They must ensure their children are supervised at all times and do not cause harm or damage to people, property, or furnishings.

1.4 Inclusion and Equal Treatment HOTEL ZOO BERLIN is committed to a respectful, open, and inclusive environment for guests and staff. Discrimination of any kind – particularly based on religion or belief, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or other protected characteristics – will not be tolerated. Violations may result in a ban from the premises.

 

2. Conduct in Public Areas

2.1 Cloakroom Coats and jackets must be stored at the complimentary cloakroom when staying in public areas (Living Room, GRACE Bar, GRACE Restaurant).

2.2 Outside Food and Beverages Consumption of food and beverages brought from outside is not permitted, unless required for medical reasons.

2.3 Phone Calls To ensure a relaxed atmosphere and mutual respect, guests are asked to refrain from making phone calls in public areas.

2.4 Name Tags Guests are kindly asked not to wear name tags during their visit – except when participating in exclusive event bookings.

 

3. GRACE Bar & Restaurant

3.1 Entry & Age Restrictions Access to GRACE Bar is not possible if the venue is exclusively booked for an event. In such cases, the Living Room Bar is available. From 9:00 p.m., entry to GRACE Bar is restricted to persons 18 years or older. Age verification may be requested.

3.2 Dress Code Guests are kindly reminded that access to GRACE Bar and GRACE Restaurant requires neat, casual-elegant evening attire. Inappropriate or overly revealing clothing may result in denial of entry.

 

4. Safety & Order

4.1 Illegal Substances & Items Guests are strictly prohibited from purchasing, using, possessing, selling, or distributing illegal drugs or substances – including in the vicinity of the hotel. Guests are also prohibited from asking staff about such substances. Illegal or offensive items must not be bought, sold, used, or carried. If found, they will be confiscated. The guest will be expelled from the hotel, and authorities will be notified where applicable.

4.2 Accidents & Injuries If a guest is injured or has an accident on HOTEL ZOO BERLIN premises, it must be reported to a staff member as soon as possible, but no later than within 24 hours. This is to fulfill the duty of care and meet legal and insurance requirements.

4.3 Surveillance Cameras Guests should be aware that surveillance cameras are used in the hotel for safety reasons.

 

5. Use of Facilities

Fitness Area Use of the fitness area is at guests’ own risk. Guests are solely responsible for any injury or damage to themselves, other persons, or equipment resulting from improper use. Children and teenagers under 18 may only use the fitness area when accompanied by a legal guardian. Parents/legal guardians are responsible for supervising their children and ensuring proper conduct.
